Did You Know?…

There are at least 26 million women with disabilities living in America.

Women with disabilities are abused at the same rate as women without disabilities; however women with disabilities stay involved in an abusive relationship over a longer time span. 

A couple of secondary conditions that affects women with physical disabilities are diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, and fatigue. 

Women with disabilities face some problems with pregnancy and delivery that are related to their disabilities, but with knowledgeable health care providers, most are able to give birth to healthy babies. (Center for Research on Women with Disabilities)

There are nearly 9 million parents with disabilities in the U.S. 70% of people with disabilities are unemployed or underemployed
